Understanding Your Insurance Benefits for Therapy
Confused about deductibles, copays, and coinsurance? You're not alone. Insurance can be overwhelming, but we're here to make it simple.
Here's What You Need to Know:
Copay: A flat fee (like $20, $30, or $50) you pay per session
Deductible: The amount you pay before insurance starts covering costs
Coinsurance: A percentage you pay after meeting your deductible (like 20% of the session cost)
Provider Discount: Even if you're paying toward a deductible, you get our contracted insurance rate not our full cash rate
Important:
Many insurance plans waive the deductible for mental health services, meaning you may only owe a copay even if you haven't met your annual deductible. This is why verification is so important you might be paying less than you think.
